Charmed 3.12 'Wrestling With Demons'

‘Wrestling With Demons’ breaks the impressively long stretch of brilliant episodes with one that tries too hard to follow a popular trend and tears a more interesting plot down.

Synopsis: When Prue discovers her ex boyfriend is about to become a demon, she and her sisters must find a way to save him by winning back his freedom in a demonic wrestling match. Phoebe confesses to her sisters about what happened to Cole.

Despite a majorly sucky part, wrestling with demons is when Phoebe finally tells Prue and Piper the truth about what she really did to Cole. I loved that Prue, while trying to save someone only seconds away from being a demon himself, scolds Phoebe for what she’s done. I really didn’t like her for the first time in ages here.

Leo losing the engagement ring is such a typical male thing to do. The lost and found spell, though it had its implications was quite funny to watch unfold. Piper and Leo are so adorable during the third season.

Prue’s desire to save someone like Tom shows how much she has changed. Unlike season one’s ‘When Bad Warlocks Turn Good’ this one didn’t feel at all out of character, seeing as how she’s changed a lot since then.

Despite its fun moments, the whole thing was really dragged down by the ridiculous fight with the demons. I can only assume Prue is using her power and channelling it into her fighting skills seeing as how she never actually displayed much of them before now.

  1. I genuinely wonder if I am the only person around who likes this episode and comes around to watch it regularly? Possibly. Not because I am into wwf or whatever it's called but of so many other great points. Phoebe finally tells her sisters her big dark secret and they react just as you would expect them to; Piper broadly supportive, Prue with fury. The lost and found spell caused many laughs and of course the drama with Piper and the space age blade was good. It's by no means the best episode but equally there are many episodes that are regarded as stronger that I just don't particularly care for.
