This is the first of many “Veronica Does Modern Issues” episodes, but it’s an oddly affecting one, and another for the “truth is shit” books, especially when the we leave the story when Veronica does, with her latest client’s life in ruins.
That never really stopped Veronica before though. That kind of determination served her well in this episode, as she tackled something that crosses a lot of different lines, whether it’s morally, ethically or risking her father seeing her in some compromising positions (his nervous conversation with her about the clinic was all kinds of adorable).
Though later episodes this season see the show really serve up the after school special realness, this one is subtle and not as overdrawn as we’ll see later on (Un-American Graffiti comes to mind). Veronica discovers that Bonnie was slipped RU-486 by her roommate, in a desperate attempt to help stabilise her life.
You can see every side here, Bonnie wanted to have a choice in the matter, as far as I’m concerned whether or not she wanted to keep it is irrelevant, Phillise took that from her. But Phillise was just being a good friend, or so she thought. Her intentions were good, but you can’t justify making a decision as big as this one for anybody, regardless of their questionable taste.
Logan’s taste is being called to question here as well, with Ronnie having some funky nightmares about what may or may not have happened between her man and Madison Sinclaire during winter break, which leads to the second LoVe break-up this season (the melo-drama is just seeping out the show’s pores this year).
This is another story with two sides to it, but I think Veronica wins marginally in this round. Out of all the people in the world, did he have to choose Veronica’s mortal enemy? Her very own Lex Luther in Prada? As satisfying as watching her new car getting squashed into a tiny box would have been, I'm glad Veronica didn't stoop to her level.
Maybe she is going soft, but considering where she started out 2 and a half years ago, it's nice to see her show a bit of forgiveness and growth. I loved Veronica getting something out of her meeting with Reverend Capistrano. It was a cool way of tying up the divisive stories that are going on this season.
I’m not all that taken by this arcs mystery just yet, but the show is dropping clues like breadcrumbs all around Keith and Veronica, and it’s definitely got me curious about where this trail end up.
7/10

Loved Veronica's little call-back to 'Silence of the Lamb' with Madison and Mac's coinciding birthdays.
