Charmed 2.16 'Murphy's Luck'

The idea to introduce something more about the girls past is something that I would have loved to have seen more of, but in this case everything just felt a little random. It was still a good hour with some fabulous performances.

Synopsis: After Prue casts a spell to save a young girl from bad luck, she becomes the target of a darklighter who forces his victims to end their lives.

Prue was always the more complex sister. It’s not surprising that someone like Prue would have gone through a lot of dark times in her life, especially considering the amount of responsibility she puts on herself. What ruins it is that there was almost no reference to it before, or for that matter after this episode. As random as it was, ‘Murphy’s Luck’ dealt with the matter pretty well and Prue was once again even a bigger standout among the sisters.

The idea of someone walking behind you talking to you like that and nobody seeing him is a little silly. Still, it actually touched on something a little darker than it did before, making the darklighter a little creepier than the typical straight forward demons they have faced.

Random, but good is how I would describe this one.

7.5/10
