Charmed 2.09 'Ms Hellfire'

Like season 1’s ‘Which Prue Is It Anyway’ this episode explores the part of Prue’s personality that’s always been held back and seeing Prue let loose is great to watch. It also marks the first return of the sisters’ enemy, Barbas.

Synopsis: Prue goes undercover when the girls are attacked by a hit woman, in order to find out who is after them.

Prue’s wild side, which has always been held back, is explored again here. Like in ‘Which Prue is it Anyway’, this episodes gives  that side of her a chance to come out and play, only this time it’s not the result of a spell.

We also meet Bane in his first of two appearances. Antonio Sabato Jr and Shannen had insanely great chemistry so it’s surprising he was never asked to come back after ‘Give Me A Sign’. Their pairing shows just how much more she’s let go, the old Prue would never even consider going near a guy like this.

Barbas returns for his second vanquish here (he even had time for a haircut!). Like I’ve said already, he was always different each time he came back. This time, he was still pretty similar to the first. One has to wonder how he got in contact with criminals though. He seemed a lot more connected to the world around him this time.

Darryl is FINALLY let in on the big secret. There was no way he could be left out of the loop too long.

It’s Prue’s undercover antics that make this episode one of my favourites, and a favourite of so many others.

9/10
