Charmed 3.14 'The Good, The Bad, And The Cursed'

In the season’s second trip through time, Prue and Cole travel back to the Wild West. It had a lot of fun with the time period, but what I loved most was the amazing dynamic that is Prue and Cole.

Synopsis: Phoebe becomes psychically linked with a man stuck in a time loop. Prue and Cole have to travel back in time in order to save Phoebe and the man from being killed and end the time loop.

I am all for the Prue and Cole dynamic here. It was particularly insane how much chemistry both of them had, and the way they played off each other was so great to watch.

The story itself wasn’t particularly great. The show always has fun with times loops, and here I think it took too much advantage of the whole being in the Wild West thing. There wasn’t anything new about it.

One thing I thought was particularly great was Bo’s pain being mirrored in Phoebe. It was quite intense watching her feel him being attacked, and Alyssa’s performance really makes it one of the most gut wrenching things the show has done. In some ways I actually feel that more could have been done capitalise on this.

Victor returns again this time he meets Leo. I liked that he has a grudge against whitelighters, one did try to steal his wife. His behaviour is so typical of a jelous ex-husband that it’s hard not to feel bad for him. Their scenes together were pretty fun (also, how funny was it when they found out Piper didn’t tell her father about Leo?! Holly’s so great there).

Despite all the great scenes it had, this episode isn’t as great as it could have been.

7.5/10
