This was quite possibly, one of the worst episodes of the entire series. It was clique, the acting was well below what people would consider acceptable, and the writing was like something out of a bad lifetime movie.
Synopsis: The sisters must stop the wedding of Hecate, who is after a woman’s son in order to conceive a demon child.
Let’s start with what this episodes about. A woman is ousted as her fiancé’s bride when his mother has to fulfil her part of a bargain and let a demon marry her son. Take out the demon part and this episode is wholly unoriginal. Hell, even with the demon part it’s still unoriginal.
Phoebe, for the first time, really annoyed me in this episode. How could she jump to such a wild conclusion? One random flash of legs and she’s prepared to kill her own sister. It made next to no sense. Also, if Piper really WAS pregnant with a demon child, and Phoebe really DID have to kill her, wouldn’t she be more broken up about it? It mostly seemed like it would have been a bit of a bummer.
The demons themselves, despite actually looking somewhat demonic, were pretty comical. Jade’s spell to stop the wedding was awfully done and made the show look like the terrible dribble some people believe it to be.
This episode DID feature some sisterly moments though. The shower schedule was so routine and normal. It was nice to see just underneath all of the magic they really are just 3 young women living under the same roof. Prue and Andy’s scenes were full of charm, and it was really evident here that they were one of the shows better pairings.
A pretty shit episode it must be said, but not the VERY bottom of the pile.
