Charmed 2.05 'She's A Man, Baby, A Man!'

This is one episode of Charmed that really didn’t mesh its fun side with its darker side as well as it should have. Despite being a little clumsy, it did have its moments and had fun with itself.

Synopsis: Prue casts a spell to attract a succubus when Phoebe begins having premonitions of killing men. The spell inadvertently turns Prue into a man, who must attract the succubus herself.

When looking at this episode purely from an entertainment standpoint, its pretty fun. They had a lot of fun with Prue turning into a man, and trying to train her to act somewhat masculine and that bathroom scene was one of the funnier moments of the whole series. It was probably one of the campier episodes the show has done.

What really lets it down is that it’s lighter side really didn’t work with the darker element of the story. For one thing, anyone who thought Prue was a man, needed their eyes checked out, she looked ridiculous. Secondly, as a demon that trashy blonde really didn’t work.

It provided some bit of entertainment, yes, but its ridiculousness didn't work as well as it could have and it brought down something that could have been amazing. For all it's faults though, it was still a lot of fun.
