Charmed 3.05 'Sight Unseen'

I think the reason this episode is so great is that it gives us our first fully human enemy under nobody’s influence but her own sanity.  It’s where season 3 really kicked off.

Synopsis: After someone breaks into the manor, Prue becomes paranoid that the intruder may be a demon sent to kill them by the triad. Piper has trouble relaxing at the thought of the Elders watching her and Leo.

Prue was always the cockiest sister. As annoying a trait as it was, it was always kind of understandable, especially given the amount of power she possesses. Why worry about things like break-ins and muggings when you can easily send them flying with a quick rhyme of flick of your wrist?

It was quite a wake-up call knowing that with all that, she can still get caught by something as simple as a human stalker. Abbey was a great villain herself, with just the right amount of crazy to make her a big threat, but not too much that she becomes a little silly, even if she thought she could pass for Prue in that terrible get-up.

The idea of someone like that going after the sisters was a smart move. With all the different demons going after the girls every week, it’s a breath of fresh air when we get something as simple as this. What really baffled me though is why Prue didn’t just keep using an astral decoy. Why get out of her hiding place when she could easily lure Abbey out of the house completely?

I always thought that it was a little creepy that the Elders could watch everything that was going on in the girls’ lives. I know I definitely couldn’t relax knowing they were around. Her paranoia was very understandable. It’s the little things that Leo and Piper face as a couple like this that made me like them so much.

9/10
