'Power Outage' is one of those episodes that had to happen. The Charmed Ones bond is what keeps the power of three together, but what happens when that bond is broken? It’s a dramatic, but predictable, hour.
Synopsis: The Charmed Ones are tricked into using their powers against one another by a demon sent by Cole, breaking the power of three and leaving them powerless.
Cole’s ‘plots of the week’ come to an end here, as his idea to destroy the harmed Ones by pitting them against one another works. It’s surprising it took the demon world this long to try something like this.
I loved seeing how much Phoebe had changed Cole. When given the perfect opportunity to end the Power of Three, he just couldn’t do it. I think it became apparent at this point that season 3 was probably the strongest season yet. But how the hell did Phoebe not think something was up with Cole with that creepy looking cupboard in his apartment. There is obviously something weird in there...
Their fight in this episode always sticks out as one of the most important moments of the season. They’ve had their fair share of fights, but using their powers against each other made it such an intense few seconds. I don’t think this idea was ever toyed with to this extent again, surprisingly.
